The High Cost of Care

The average cost of a nursing home room in Michigan is over $100,000 per year. Medicare DOES NOT pay for long-term custodial care. Without insurance, this must come out of your own pocket.

Hybrid Policies

Don't want to "use it or lose it"? We offer modern Hybrid Life+LTC policies. If you need care, it pays for it. If you never need care, your family gets a death benefit. You win either way.

What Does it Cover?

Activities of Daily Living

Benefits are triggered when you cannot perform 2 of the 6 "ADLs" without help:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Eating
  • Toileting
  • Transferring (walking)
  • Continence

Flexible Care

Modern policies emphasize Home Health Care. Most people want to age in their own home, not a facility. These policies pay for visiting nurses or aides to help you stay at home.

Planning for Yourself or Parents

The best time to buy is in your 50s, before health issues arise.

LTC FAQs

No. Medicare only pays for "skilled" rehabilitative care for a short time (up to 100 days) after a hospital stay. It covers ZERO days of "custodial" care (help with dressing/eating) which is what most seniors eventually need.

It depends on your age and health. Premiums are much lower if you buy in your 40s or 50s. Waiting until your 60s or 70s makes it very expensive or impossible to qualify for.
